Pastor's Bio

PastorpRev. Alexander Pope, Jr. is the youngest son of 14 children born to the late Deacon Alexander Pope, Sr. and Ms. Willie Mae William Pope. He is a native Aiken County South Carolina, where he attended public school. He is a graduate of Martha Schofield High School. He received his Bachelor of Art Degree from Voorhees College, Denmark, South Carolina. He has a MBA from Clemson University Clemson, South Carolina, a Master of Divinity from Ashley Theological Seminary Ashley, Ohio and a Doctorate of Divinity from Cenfield Theologian Seminary of Atlanta, Georgia.

Rev. Dr. Pope is married to the former Ms. Linda K Mackie. They have one daughter. He is the recipient of more than 100 awards and certificates for community service rendered to the CSRA and surrounding communities. He was the recipient of the Westinghouse Savannah River Company’s 1999 “Man of The Year” award for his efforts in revitalizing Bettis Academy and opening an alternative school for children in the upper Aiken and Edgefield Counties of South Carolina.

He is the District Director for South Carolina Education and Mission Convention Congress of Christian Education, a member of the Advisory Board of the Mt. Canaan Association, Inc. of Trenton, South Carolina and the National Baptist Convention, USA Inc. He also serves as an advisor to the Board of Directors for Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina.

He enjoys meeting people, playing golf and bowling.
